Who am I, before what should I wear?

Most style advice starts with the clothes. I start with you. This is the two-course bundle that shows you your best colors and the deeper style that is already yours, so getting dressed finally feels like coming home to yourself.

Let me guess how mornings go...

You stand in front of a full closet and feel like you have nothing to wear. You buy things you loved in the store, and then they hang there with the tags on. You look at a color on a friend and think, that's gorgeous, but somehow the same color makes you look tired. And you have started wondering if the problem is you.

It isn't.

The problem is that nobody ever taught you the two things that actually make an outfit work: the colors that harmonize with your own coloring, and the style that reflects who you genuinely are. Once you understand those, the guessing stops. (And so does the money quietly wasted on things you never wear.)

My Philosophy..

I always say that when you understand the why of something, the how becomes simple.

For 13 years and more than 350 clients, I have watched the same thing happen. A woman learns her real colors and her real style, and she doesn't just dress better. She stands a little taller. She stops hiding in the same safe neutrals. She becomes visible again, in the best possible way.

That is because your clothes were never really about the clothes. They are about expressing, out loud and in color, who you already are. Color is where we begin, because it is the very first thing the human eye registers. Style is where it deepens, because it answers the bigger question underneath all of this: who am I, and how do I want to show up in the world?

These two courses are the answer to both. That is why I put them together.

What changes for you

By the time you finish, you will:

  • Know your color range, not a label somebody slapped on you, but the colors that genuinely harmonize with your coloring
  • Understand your contrast level and undertone, so you can shop with confidence instead of hope
  • Recognize your fundamental style essence, and dress from it instead of from whatever is trending
  • Stop wasting money on clothes that never leave the closet
  • Get dressed faster, because a wardrobe that reflects you doesn't require a daily negotiation
  • Feel like yourself again when you look in the mirror

I tell my clients to give themselves about two years to fully transform a wardrobe. This is not an instant fix, and I would never pretend it is. But it is a head start you will use for the rest of your life.

About Andrea

I'm Andrea Pflaumer, author of the Amazon bestselling Shopping for the Real You the only book based on the Personal Style Counselors system, and She's Got Good Jeans, my guide to finding the perfect jeans for your body shape and budget. I host the Fashion Perfection Series, and I write regularly for the Huffington Post, Better After 50, Sixty and Me, and SheSavvy, along with my own blog at shoppingfortherealyou.com. My articles on art, fashion, and shopping have appeared in the San Francisco Examiner, Oakland Magazine, East Bay Express, San Francisco Weekly, and the East Bay Monthly.

I have spent more than 13 years as a personal stylist, working with over 350 clients, and more than 50 years in the human potential movement. I studied the foundations of this work closely before developing my own approach, because I kept feeling that the standard "four seasons, you're done" method was leaving something important out. It was. It was leaving out you.

That is really the heart of everything I teach. My job isn't to hand you a list of rules to follow. It's to help you recognize what was already true about you, and to give you the confidence to dress like it.
